The CR-2 AF is a Non Mydriatic Camera with extensive auto functions. Taking images with a Canon retinal camera has never been easier! Canon’s own EOS digital camera technology, with its renowned image processing capabilities, has been adapted exclusively for Canon retinal cameras to offer optimal retinal imaging.
SEE THE SMALLEST DETAIL, DON’T MISS PATHOLOGY
Superb Canon optics and a dedicated 24 MP digital camera for highest image quality. Canon Opacity suppression will largely suppress the effects of cataracts and other ocular opacities.
FIELD OF VIEW
45 degrees (90 degrees measured from the center of the eye)
2X digital magnification . This option can also be used to provide an image with a 30 degrees angle. 30 degrees images will allow participation in studies and co-operation with most reading centers: i.e DARC, Wisconsin and VRC.
WIDEFIELD IMAGING WITH MOSAIC
With the optional mosaic software up to 20 images can be combined, providing wide field imaging.
DIGITAL RED FREE AND DIGITAL COBALT
Images are created from the original RAW sensor information . Based on the EOS retina technology and Canon proprietary image processing, it provides image quality- fully comparable with traditional optical filters.
EXTREMELY COMPACT AND LIGHTWEIGHT
The compact design and the weight of just 15 kg makes the CR-2 AF very suitable for mobile use. The unit is even equipped with special grips for easy carrying.
SHORT REACHING DISTANCE
The compact design allows the operator to easily keep the patient’s eye open with one hand and permits an excellent view of the patient’s eye.
Intelligent design with specifically shaped surfaces to act as grip; intuitive handling for quick and efficient image capture. Switches are illuminated for easy operation in darkened rooms.
The ergonomic joystick combines many functions . Besides the shutter release and aligment buttons, it also includes the up and down movement of optical head (powered) and manual focus control.
Latest technology – for fast and accurate focusing
AUTOMATIC SWITCHING FROM EXTERNAL TO RETINAL OBSERVATION
After a correct initial alignment on the pupil, the anterior eye observation switches to retinal eye observation mode automatically.
AUTO EXPOSURE (PHOTOMETRIC)
Flash and observation light intensity is determined automatically during every examination, based on real-time measurement of retina reflectance, for perfect images regardless of pupil size or ethnicity.
When the alignment, working distance and focus are correct, photography will be performed automatically
The extensive auto functions of the CR-2 AF will make the examinations much easier. But for patients with ocular opacities, involuntary eye movements, lack of co-operation and small pupils the CR-2 AF also provides full manual control. Manual operation can be crucial to overcome the limitations of fully automatic cameras.
FULL LED TECHNOLOGY
LED technology is used for the observation as well as for the flash, for greater patient comfort, improved reliability and extended life-time.
LOW FLASH MODE
Ultra low Flash Intensity will reduce patients’ discomfort greatly and essential for photophobic patients. Restriction of pupil is reduced; easy to re-take photos, or to take images of both eyes without waiting.
DEDICATED 24 MEGA PIXEL DIGITAL CAMERA
Canon’s own EOS digital camera technology, with its renowned image processing capabilities, is adapted exclusively for Canon retinal cameras. The EOS Retina camera provides optimal retinal imaging. And it is completely integrated with the functions of the retinal camera. A further advantage is that the digital camera body can be exchanged easily in case of upgrading to a newer model or service requirements.
Specific algorithms in the DIGIC processor of the EOS with optimal image parameters for retinal imaging and representation of true colors : for the best possible diagnosis.
The image processing that is applied, reduces the gradation of overexposure.
Low-intensity sections (macula) are clearly visible, while maintaining the gradation in tone of the high-intensity portion (the optic disc).
The EOS Retina is fully integrated with the functions of the retinal camera, it not only captures the best possible retinal image but also functions as IRED observation; LCD monitor and Auto Exposure sensor for real time flash control . Combining these functions greatly contribute to a compact and lightweight retinal camera.
PHOTOMETRIC AUTO EXPOSURE
The metering sensor inside the EOS that normally is used for TTL flash exposure control, is now used to control the intensity of the retinal camera’s internal flash and observation light.
This digital camera body can easily be detached and exchanged in case of upgrading to a newer model or service requirements.
VARI-ANGLE LCD SCREEN
For optimised viewing angles, so the CR-2 AF can be operated while seated or standing up.
Quick and easy anterior segment photography to document the cornea, pupil, eyelid and sclera.
ANTERIOR IR PHOTOGRAPHY
Use this additional anterior IR photography mode to check the condition of the Meibomian glands – an important factor related to dry-eye conditions. Obtain images of the anterior segment of the eye in non-invasive patient friendly Infrared (IR) light.
