Cardiac CT case interpretation training

Join the upcoming four-day cardiac CT training course organized by Canon Medical Academy in Amstelveen on Oct 12–15 (four days), from 09:00 to 17:00.

This four-day course provides structured, hands-on training in cardiac CT using more than 150 real clinical cases. The small-group format ensures close interaction with faculty and individualized feedback, while each participant works at a dedicated vendor neutral Vitrea® Advanced Visualization post-processing workstation to support independent image interaction and interpretation.

 

Under the guidance of Dr. Mark Kon, the course covers coronary CT interpretation and focused lectures on clinical topics including calcium scoring, TAVI assessment and reporting using CADRADS.

The concepts taught are vendor-independent, and only minimal prior experience is required.

 

Dr. Kon has 10 years of experience teaching cardiologists and radiologists to read axial images and create curved longitudinal sections of coronary arteries using basic computer mouse skills.

Training is delivered in a state-of-the-art education center equipped with the latest CT and post-processing systems, offering an inspiring and relaxed learning environment.

 

The course is intended for cardiologists and radiologists, and is also suitable for other healthcare professionals, including advanced radiographers and advanced practitioners with an interest in cardiac CT case reading.

  • assess cardiac physiology and CT scanner hardware to aid selection of retrospective, prospective and single heart beat acquisition modes
  • use vendor agnostic Vitrea to view axial CT images

  • Review over 150 cases (including 30 structural cases, at least 10 revascularized cases, and angiographic feedback on over 25 cases suitable for BSCI and ESCVI Cardiac CT logbooks)

After initially training in cardiac surgery, Dr. Mark Kon trained in MR cardiac imaging at the Royal Brompton and completed radiology specialist training in London and Leeds. Appointed Consultant Thoracic Radiologist at Bradford Teaching Hospitals in 2004, he has developed cardiac CT imaging at Bradford over nearly 20 years and teaches cardiac CT workshops at local and national level in the UK. He maintains a strong interest in CT technology, contrast use, and radiation dose reduction.
