High-resolution optical coherence tomography (OCT) and high-definition retinal-photography all combined in an affordable entry-level OCT device with a small footprint and flexible layout, offering the advantage to easily fit into any room, to even be placed in a corner allowing for optimal use of available space with touchscreen operation.

Large-Sized Volume Scanning with High Resolution

The combination of OCT and high-definition Retinal Camera in the OCT-R1 makes it an ideal solution for screening and practices with a high patient throughput. It offers a wide range of high-quality scanning patterns of up to 14.7 x 13.4 mm with a 32.5 MP resolution and specific algorithm processes that produce high-definition and unsurpassed true-color imaging.

The comprehensive RX software is designed to automatically combine the information from both the OCT and the Retinal Camera for complete reporting and diagnostic support. It is optimized for touch screen operation with generously dimensioned and clear icons that make navigation effortless.  

It allows for easy comparison of images from different examinations enabling progression monitoring and follow-up of images from different visits.

Sequential Protocols with Audio guidance

Xephilio OCT-R1 offers a fully automated sequential examination protocol that can be initiated with just one touch. The audio guidance helps the patient throughout the entire optical coherence tomography examination process, starting from the initial alignment until the OCT scan is captured. This advanced feature supports multiple languages and streamlines the imaging process, ensuring accuracy and consistency in the imaging data obtained on both eyes.

Auto Image Quality Alert Function

The results of the sequential examinations are visualized in a comprehensive overview with an auto image quality alert function that notifies the examiner when a captured image has insufficient quality. The sequence of the examination protocol can be customized to users’ requirements and can consist of up to 4 OCT examinations + 1 retinal image or 5 OCT examinations for both eyes.

Fast and Consistent Exams

The Xephilio OCT-R1 is a highly customizable device that offers programmable exam presets, allowing operators to combine multiple scan modes into a single exam. This unique feature reduces patient discomfort and improves a more efficient clinic workflow. The Wide 3D scan mode (13x10 mm) combining Glaucoma 3D and Disc 3D scans into a single scan shortens significantly the glaucoma examination process with accurate progression follow-up.

High-Resolution Scans

The Xephilio OCT-R1 includes an averaging function that allows for the combination of up to 50 multiple scans to eliminate any optical noise with AI-supported auto-segmentation. It is capable of making very wide-volume scans of Max. 14.7mm × 13.4mm with a very high resolution of 1536 A-scans wide.

OCT Angiography with ANGIO Expert

This optional software utilizes sophisticated algorithms to extract motion information from the tomograms obtained by the OCT-R1. It enables the visualization of even the smallest blood vessels in both 2D and 3D formats.  

The combination of the Xephilio OCT-R1 with the ANGIO Expert software provides a powerful tool for specialists to visualize and analyze the retinal microvasculature with exceptional detail and accuracy.  

The ANGIO Expert also features intelligent DENOISE, an AI technology that revolutionizes optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) images by reducing image noise, enhancing details and improving visibility within seconds also with the ability to create panoramic images combining 4 to 5 OCTA scans, helpful to visualize retinal pathologies in the far periphery.

Purpose Inbuilt EOS Digital Retinal Photography 32.5MP

Incorporated into the OCT-R1, this camera is now part of the optical system, which further enhances the quality of the retinal images captured. Canon EOS Retina advanced technology integrated into the OCT-R1 improves diagnostic capabilities and patient outcomes with full auto-focusing and capturing function at optimized light observation and flash intensity.

Canon Opacity Suppression

This unique and sophisticated software tool restores the original brightness and color of the retina. The technology reduces the adverse effect of ocular opacities such as cataract for a clearer view of the blood vessels, resulting into obscure structures becoming more recognizable.

The REDFREE and COBALT digital filters provide excellent image quality comparable with optical filters due to the DIGIC image processor that uses dedicated algorithms to provide optimal true-color image parameters for retinal imaging.
