Moderator: Dr. Belén del Río CarreroHead of the Cardiothoracic Radiology Department at Bellvitge University Hospital in Barcelona with expertise in advanced thoracic imaging and image-guided interventional procedures. Main interests include interstitial lung disease, lung cancer screening, and the integration of emerging technologies – such as artificial intelligence and radiomics – into clinical practice.
Coordinator of the Chest Radiology Curriculum for the Catalan Imaging Society’s Training Program, contributing to structured training and continuing medical education in thoracic imaging. Active lecturer at national and international meetings, committed to sharing knowledge in high-resolution CT interpretation and multidisciplinary diagnosis of diffuse lung disease.
Dr. del Río is involved in European innovation and research projects such as “4-IN-The-Lung-Run” and SEPI-IA, focused on advancing early detection, risk stratification, and precision medicine approaches in pulmonary disease. Co-author of multiple peer-reviewed publications, with a particular focus on fibrotic interstitial lung diseases, post-COVID pulmonary fibrosis, and imaging patterns associated with autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.
