Over the last eight years, Canon has partnered with Real Madrid to deliver more than 4,000 high-level imaging procedures. This has ensured that players from the Real Madrid academy and professional football and basketball teams receive the vital treatment they require to return to play in a minimal time. Based on a transparent, open and respectful partnership, we aim to develop innovative solutions that prioritize patient health and comfort while increasing diagnostic capability and confidence.

Aplio i800 / Prism Edition: High-frequency transducers for easier interventional treatment

At Real Madrid, Canon Medical's Aplio i800 / Prism Edition is utilized for all interventional procedures, including ultrasound-guided muscle hematoma evacuation and injections guidance in the joints and tendons.

The high-frequency "hockeystick" transducer plays an especially important role during treatment due to its very fine footprint that allows easy access for imaging superficial areas in hard to reach anatomical places. Its ergonomic design makes it easier to avoid contact with certain structures such as vascular nerves. It also provides high resolution imaging all the way from the near to far field.

Canon Medical's Vantage Galan 3T is available 7 days a week for all players, offering convenient scans that accommodate athletes' schedules and practices.

Immediately after an injury, the timely and detailed insights enabled by high-quality images help medical professionals formulate effective treatment plans and facilitate discussions with specialists, particularly regarding surgical interventions. During the healing process of muscular injuries, periodic scans enable clinicians to monitor the injury's progression. Precise diagnosis leads to more confident determinations of the the player's prognosis and recovery progress, allowing athletes to resume activities with reduced risk.
