The Impact of Wide Field Imaging for Patient Management | Live Webinar

Wide field imaging is becoming the standard in retinal imaging for various pathologies. What impact does this have on patient management? Are we discovering more than before? Are we managing patients differently?

To answer these questions, join us on April 18 (7 pm CEST / 1 pm EDT) for the webinar “The Impact of Wide Field Imaging for Patient Management,” made possible by the Canon Medical Academy, where Prof. Tariq Aslam, Mr. Luke Nicholson, and Dr. Barbara Parolini will discuss the use of wide field imaging in their daily practice.

Program

  • Clinical Utility of Wide Field OCT-A in Diabetic Retinopathy Management | Mr. Luke Nicholson
  • Why I Cannot Do Without Wide Field OCT and OCTA | Dr. Barbara Parolini
  • Live Q&A
Why should you attend?
  • Understand the clinical utility of wide field OCT and OCTA in diabetic retinopathy management
  • Learn when to apply the wide field OCT or OCTA and what to look for
  • Get practical tips from experts on how to utilize wide field imaging in daily practice
  • Participate in the live Q&A to find answers to your own questions

Moderator: Prof. Tariq Aslam, MA(Oxon), DM (Oxon), FRCSEd (Ophth), PhD Professor of Ophthalmology and Interface Technologies, University of Manchester
Consultant Ophthalmologist, Manchester Royal Eye Hospital
Director, IOVS MSc Course
Manchester, UK

Prof. Tariq Aslam began his medical training at Oxford University and completed his medical retina fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital. His first research doctorate from Oxford University involved clinical trials in ophthalmic surgery, and a further PhD from Heriot-Watt University investigated technology applications in ophthalmology.

He has over 100 peer-reviewed publications (predominantly as lead author) and several patents, and serves as an investigator on multiple commercial studies as well as investigator-led studies. His research has led to a spin-out medical technology company with awards for social impact, which is his ultimate research goal.

Speaker: Mr. Luke Nicholson, FRCOphth MD Consultant Ophthalmologist, Director of Medical Retina Service
Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
London, UK

Presentation: Clinical Utility of Wide Field OCT-A in Diabetic Retinopathy Management This session will discuss the clinical application and utility of wide field OCT and OCTA in the daily management of patients with diabetic retinopathy. The presentation will include a review of the literature and case presentations on the benefits of this imaging modality in improving patient care.

Mr. Luke Nicholson is a consultant ophthalmologist and medical retina specialist at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, where he is currently director of the medical retina service. At Moorfields, he has completed multiple research and clinical fellowships in medical retina and uveitis.
Mr. Nicholson is actively involved in research and obtained his MD (Res) from University College London, where he studied the use of ultra-wide field imaging in retinal vascular diseases and its association with neovascularization and retinal vessel oxygenation.

He has published widely on retinal vascular diseases and is the chief investigator for national and international clinical studies.

Presentation: Why I Cannot Do Without Wide Field OCT and OCTA The presentation will show a series of cases where the OCT and OCTA helped either reach the diagnosis or manage the therapy.

Dr. Barbara Parolini was born in Verona, Italy, on April 17, 1968. She is a vitreoretinal surgeon who has exercised her practice, mainly in Italy, since 1997.
She graduated from Medical School with laude in 1993 in Italy and obtained the diploma in Ophthalmology with laude in 1997.
