Amstelveen, The Netherlands, June 26, 2026 – Canon Medical Systems Europe and Fraiya today announced a strategic collaboration to introduce advanced AI-powered prenatal ultrasound workflow support.
The collaboration combines Canon’s premium ultrasound imaging platforms with Fraiya’s AI-powered software layer, designed to support clinicians during prenatal ultrasound examinations through real-time workflow assistance, automated image capture, biometric measurements, and scan completeness guidance.
As part of the collaboration, Fraiya’s AI technology will be introduced alongside Canon ultrasound systems to help healthcare providers improve consistency, efficiency, and quality in prenatal screening workflows, focusing on the mid-trimester anomaly examination.
Fraiya’s vendor-flexible AI platform* integrates into existing clinical workflows and is designed to support sonographers and fetal medicine teams without disrupting established scanning practices. The platform provides real-time automation and AI-powered support to help improve efficiency, consistency, and workflow standardization across ultrasound departments.
This strategic collaboration between Canon Medical Systems Europe and Fraiya reflects a shared vision to accelerate the adoption of clinically integrated AI technologies in women’s health imaging.
“This collaboration represents an exciting step forward in bringing practical, workflow-focused AI innovation into prenatal ultrasound,” said Satoshi Matsunaga, European Director Ultrasound, Canon Medical Systems Europe. “By combining Canon’s imaging excellence with Fraiya’s AI capabilities, we aim to support clinicians with technologies that enhance workflow efficiency and consistency while maintaining high standards of patient care.”
Fraiya’s technology has been developed in collaboration with leading academic and clinical institutions, including King’s College London and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, with ongoing clinical evaluation through The Fraiya Study in the United Kingdom.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Canon Medical Systems Europe as we expand access to AI-powered prenatal ultrasound support,” said Prof. Reza Razavi, CEO of Fraiya. “This collaboration brings together world-class ultrasound imaging and real-time AI workflow support to help address increasing clinical pressures facing prenatal ultrasound services today.”
