Prof. Julene Carvalho is a well respected fetal and pediatric cardiologist with more than 20 years of experience in the field of ultrasound. She works closely with obstetricians and obstetric ultrasonographers to improve recognition of congenital heart disease and puts a lot of effort into education and training.
One of her special interests is the fetal heart using ultrasound in high-risk pregnancies at 13 to 14 weeks.

Abstract: The reasons why cardiac lesions are overlooked during anomaly is discussed with visual examples. Lesions which cause diagnostic difficulty, particularly those of the outflow tracts will be presented with tips on optimal imaging. Recently, attention has focused on integration of the 3 vessel + trachea view into practice. Examples of normal and abnormal appearances will be presented linked to their clinical relevance.
