Dr. Paulo Vilares Morgado, MD Dr. Paulo Vilares Morgado is an Interventional Radiologist at the CHU de São João in Porto, Portugal, where he is also the Head of the Interventional Radiology Unit and Assistant Professor of Radiology at Porto Medical School, where he teaches interventional radiology. He studied medicine at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, where he also completed his residency in radiology and diagnosis.
Being a fellow of the European Board of Interventional Radiology, Dr. Morgado’s clinical and research interests lie in techniques like DEB-TACE and SIRT for liver cancer, thermal ablation, portal vein embolization, bronchial artery, and PAVM embolization, pushing the boundaries of innovation in interventional radiology.
Prof. Julien Frandon, MD, PhD Prof. Julien Frandon is an Interventional Radiologist and the Head of the Interventional Radiology Department at CHU de Nîmes, France, a position he has held since November 2015. He specializes in interventional oncology and vascular radiology, providing patients with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
Prof. Frandon has made notable strides in advanced medical imaging and interventional techniques, particularly in the integration of angiography and CT, as well as in pioneering procedures like prostatic artery embolization and cryoablation for both benign and malignant tumors.
Dr. Bulent Arslan, MD Dr. Bulent Arslan currently serves as the Director of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He is one of the first Interventional Radiologists to start performing chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency procedures in the US.
An active researcher, Dr. Arslan has participated in more than 30 clinical trials and has authored more than 120 peer-reviewed articles and abstracts, as well as several book chapters. Dr Arslan is certified by the ABR in diagnostic radiology with CAQ in vascular & interventional radiology, a fellow of SIR, and a member of AHA, RSNA, CIRSE, and AMA.
A frequent speaker, he has been invited to lecture at more than 150 regional, national, and international medical conferences. In recent years, he served as the Vice Chair and Chair of the scientific program at the Society of Interventional Radiology Annual Meeting in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
