Advanced Neck Ultrasound: A Multiparametric Approach

Join “Advanced Neck Ultrasound: A Multiparametric Approach” on December 11 at 7 pm (CET), the new webinar made possible by Canon Medical Academy, and learn how combining B-mode, Doppler, elastography, and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) strengthens tissue characterization and diagnostic confidence across neck pathologies.

Accurate diagnosis of neck pathologies remains challenging because the sonographic characteristics of lesions in the thyroid, parathyroid, cervical lymph nodes, and salivary glands often overlap. To address this, a multiparametric advanced neck ultrasound workflow – combining B-mode, Doppler, elastography, and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) – adds complementary information that can improve tissue characterization and support diagnostic confidence.

This 60-minute webinar will provide practical insights into optimized scanning protocols, interpretation strategies, and the latest clinical guidelines, helping clinicians refine their diagnostic approach and support minimally invasive treatment planning – and hands-on tips you can apply immediately.

This webinar occurs in the past. The recording will be available soon.

Presentation: Advanced Neck Ultrasound: A Multiparametric Approach

Advanced Neck Ultrasound: A Multiparametric Approach is a diagnostic imaging technique that combines traditional ultrasound imaging with the use of color Doppler, microvascularization, elastography, and contrast agents to enhance the visualization of blood flow and tissue characteristics, providing a more detailed evaluation than standard ultrasound alone.

It aids in the detection and characterization of thyroid nodules, abnormal parathyroid glands, lymph nodes, and salivary glands. Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) helps evaluate the vascularity of thyroid nodules before and after minimally invasive ablative treatment. Malignant nodules tend to have irregular and increased blood flow, whereas benign nodules often have more regular and less intense vascularity.

The overlapping features may interfere, requiring the operator's experience and skill to perform this type of ultrasound. This session will highlight tips and tricks on how to perform multiparametric ultrasound for neck structures and provide an update on current, relevant guidelines for clinical practice.
