Vascular & Choroidal Wide Field Imaging

Seeing more means understanding more. Wide field swept-source imaging is changing the game in ophthalmology, providing deeper choroidal visualization and a broader retinal field extending to the vortex vein ampulla. With just a single scan, you can access significantly more details than traditional OCT scans, helping you detect and manage vascular and choroidal diseases with greater confidence.

The "Vascular & Choroidal Wide Field Imaging" webinar, made possible by the Canon Medical Academy, will explore vascular and choroidal diseases using the Xephilio OCT-S1 swept-source wide field OCT.

Join us on April 10, 2025, at 7 pm (CEST) / 6 pm (BST) to gain insights from leading experts in retinal imaging and care.

Presentation: Wide-field OCT-Angiography in Retinal Disease

OCT-angiography plays an essential role in advancing the diagnosis and guiding the management of retinal vascular diseases, offering detailed insights into vascular structures and abnormalities. Recent advancements in wide-field OCT-angiography technology have provided a broader field of view, significantly enhancing our understanding of various retinal conditions.

These developments allow for more efficient and precise management of complex cases.

In this presentation, Dr. Emad Abu Ishkheidem will highlight the application of wide field OCT-angiography in diverse retinal vascular conditions and showcase its impact on clinical practice.

Presentation: Ultra-wide field measurement of choroidal thickness in ophthalmic diseases

UWF technology has been recently incorporated into SD-OCT devices. In advanced equipment, especially swept-source-based, measurements in both central and far peripheral sectors of the retina and the choroid are possible. As modern ophthalmological knowledge is directed toward analyzing choroidal thickness and architecture, such an option is a valuable addition to standard field SD-OCT indexes.

Prof. Maciej Gawecki will present the utility of UWF measurements in such conditions as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and central serous chorioretinopathy.

He will also share his experience translating these results into clinical practice and research. The presentation will be illustrated with UWF-OCT scans of different retinal entities.
